Good news for everyone staying in the city this summer!
Bwogline: The MTA will be increasing night and weekend subway service this summer on the G, J, and M lines, according to an announcement from last week. The first of the service boosts will begin in July with more weekend trains on the G, J, and M lines. Officials said Saturday and Sunday commuters on the lines will wait eight to nine minutes for a train, instead of the current 10 or 11 minutes. In August, the MTA said it plans to improve weekend service on the 1 and 6 lines, running trains every six minutes. (Gothamist)
Study Tip: Make sure that your study environment is what you need! It might seem like a waste of time to find the perfect location with a good temperature, noise level, amount of light, etc. before you start studying, but being uncomfortable, even just a little bit, can make a huge difference in your productivity. Find a spot in a library, or outside if it’s nice, where you’re not too hot or cold, the noise is at a nice background volume that won’t distract you, and you’re getting the amount of sun you want. Have a drink or snack nearby too so you won’t have to leave and find a new spot if you get hungry.
Procrastination Tip: Do the easy work first before the work you’re dreading. (This might seem counterintuitive, but you will be getting something done, and checking anything off your to-do list will give you the confidence to tackle the big things.)
Music of the Day: “Slow Burn” by Kacey Musgraves. The lyrics “I’m alright with a slow burn / Taking my time, let the world turn / I’m gonna do it my way, it’ll be alright” seem like a good sentiment for finals season.
Overseen/Overheard: So many people out and about on the lawns in the warm weather this weekend! Makes me so happy to see. (And all the green leaves and trees! So pretty.)

@Anonymous Wava happa big life size portrait of Gen Wm Barclay Parsons from Mudd Library?
He built NYC, London, Paris, Peking subways and founded Columbia civl engineering. They even named a Boulevard after him near his Flushing home on Percy Street (now 147th Street) and Washington Street (now 37th Avenue).
