Happening in the World: Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub, two Russian cosmonauts accompany NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara on her inaugural flight to space. The Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft took off from a launchpad in Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan on Friday, and headed for the International Space Station. The spacecraft took off at approximately 11:44 am and was in flight for about three hours. The cooperation between both countries’ aircraft teams highlights the importance of this kind of groundbreaking research, despite geopolitical tensions between the United States and Russia. (CNN)

Happening in the US: After being charged with criminal conspiracy after the 2020 election, federal prosecutors obtained 32 private messages from former President Donald J. Trump’s personal Twitter account. Earlier last month it was revealed that prosecutors had obtained a certain number of messages from Trump’s Twitter, however the number of messages was previously undisclosed. These crucial findings add to a developing story concerning Mr. Trump’s attempt to overthrow the results of the 2020 election. They also offer a glimpse into what the government is seeking. (NYT)

Happening in NYC: Ice Spice showed up to New York Fashion Week at the Dion Lee Spring 2024 runway show. Sitting next to Kali Uchis and Diplo, the Bronx rapper snagged a front row seat and has been in the spotlight ever since! She later performed at the Boom Boom Room at the Lee afterparty and was photographed with Doja Cat among other A-list celebrities. Ice Spice continued to solidify her success at the MTV VMAs last Tuesday evening, where she snagged the award for “Best New Artist”. The rapper was up against fellow rookie talents such as GloRilla, Kaliii, PinkPantheress, Renee Rapp, and others. (GQ)

Happening in Our Community: The CU Democrats are hosting their “Meet Your Representative Town Hall” event from 6 pm to 8 pm on Saturday.
