Happening in the World: Once again, a thick coating of toxic foam covers portions of a holy river near New Delhi, as the Indian capital battles an offensive and putrid cloud that has swept throughout the region. The Yamuna River flows through many states and is located approximately 855 miles (1,376 kilometers) south of the Himalayas. It is a tributary of the sacred Ganges River. Sewage mixed with industrial trash has created a white froth over parts of this sacred river. The Press Trust of India claims a mixture that resembles it has been found in a canal in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. This week, New Delhi was ranked as the world’s most polluted city by the Swiss air quality business IQAir for several consecutive. According to the firm, the city’s dangerous air quality index (AQI) on Thursday was 517. (CNN)
Happening in the US: Earlier this week, a temporary exhibition titled “Lady Bird: Beyond the Wildflowers” opened up in Austin, Texas. Visitors can see the exhibition’s array of ways that Johnson had an impact. According to Hall, the exhibit is so well-liked that the library intends to include some of it into its ongoing collection before it ends at the end of the year. After President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963, Lady Bird Johnson started keeping an audio journal during the turbulent days that followed her husband’s election. About ten years after her passing, that audio was made available through this library exhibit. It supplements the home videos she narrated and the taped interviews she conducted after her husband’s presidency. (AP News)
Happening in NYC: According to the campaign of Mayor Eric Adams, electronic devices belonging to him were reportedly confiscated by the FBI earlier this week. The lawyer representing Adams refrained from disclosing the whereabouts of the mayor on Monday evening. During a press conference on Wednesday, Adams informed reporters that he had repeatedly instructed his campaign to adhere to the established regulations. He commented that he consistently experience restful nights of sleep. It is apparent that we adhere to the regulations.
