Happening in the World: According to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, six UN employees were killed in an Israeli air strike on a school run by the UN in central Gaza. According to Gaza’s Hamas-run Civil Defence, a total of 18 people were killed at the school, which is used as a shelter by displaced Palestinians. This is the fifth time the school has been targeted since the beginning of the war (BBC).
Happening in the US: 33,000 Boeing union members have begun to strike after the rejection a four-year contract with Boeing. This strike will essentially stop all commercial airplane production and may be troubling to the US economy (CNN).
Happening in NYC: NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban resigned on Thursday. His departure comes less than one week after reports came out that top officials, including Caban, had their phones seized by federal investigators (Gothamist).
