Just in time for spring!

Happening in the World: On Wednesday, Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador to meet with the country’s vice president. Van Hollen was pushing for the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man who was deported to El Salvador in March by the Trump administration despite an immigration court order demanding otherwise. In a conference held later in San Salvador, Van Hollen stated that Vice President Ulloa and his administration did not intend on releasing Abrego Garcia or allowing Van Hollen to visit him in the prison where he is being held. Happening in the US: This morning, the former bassist for the pop rock band OneRepublic, Tim Myers, announced his plan to run for a seat in the House of Representatives. His goal is to unseat GOP Rep. Ken Calvert in the battleground 41st district in Riverside County. In the video announcing his campaign, Myers stated that “Ken Calvert has been in Washington for 30 years,” and that the “status quo isn’t working.” With Congress and the White House both under Republican control, California will be an important piece of the puzzle as Democrats fight to regain control of the House.
