Thousands of people flock to Vatican City to pay their respects to Pope Francis. Editor’s note: mentions of death, stabbing.
Happening in the World: Pope Francis was buried in Vatican City at his funeral on Saturday, where an estimated 250,000 people attended the mass. This marked the first funeral procession for a pope in a century. Dozens of migrants, prisoners, and homeless people held white flowers outside the basilica, and four children deposited roses at the floor of his altar. Later, cardinals performed the rite of burial. The pope was described as being a “pope among the people, with an open heart towards everyone.” (AP)

Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan was taken into custody and now faces charges of concealing an individual to prevent arrest and impeding a proceeding. (AP)
