Happening in the World: After launching a deadly series of attacks on Ukraine early Thursday morning, US President Donald Trump has offered rare criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He took to Truth social this morning, writing “I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP!” and “Let’s get the Peace Deal DONE!” It was the deadliest attack on Ukraine since July 2024, with nine confirmed deaths and over 70 injuries. (AP)
Happening in the US: According to a poll conducted by the Associated Press, the American people’s faith in President Donald Trump seems to be faltering. Many, as indicated by the poll, fear that he is steering the country towards a recession, and roughly half of US adults expect prices to rise due to his haphazardly enforced tariffs. Only about four in ten Americans approve of the way the President is handling the economy, and six in ten believe that he has “gone too far” with his series of tariffs. (AP)
