Bwog Recommendation:

I loved living in Reid! Sure the lack of AC sucks (especially when its 90 degrees on move in day) but it really doesn’t affect you for the majority of the year. Aside from that, I think Reid is a great place to live. I like that the rooms are very symmetrical so you clearly have your side and your roommates side. Reid is the smallest hall in the quad so you can really get to know the people in your hall (shoutout Reid 4!). While the rooms facing Broadway do get a lot of street noise, the views of Columbia’s campus more than make up for it in my opinion. Overall, I’m really happy with my dorm experience in Reid, so don’t let the lack of AC scare you from what’s actually a great dorm!

Resident Opinions:

  • “Reid is the best dorm because our closets are the biggest”
  • “I think Reid has the best community” “Yeah, Reid hallway chat goes crazy”
  • “I really like the small amount of dorms in Reid and how everyone knows each other and is friends”
  • “Obviously the no AC situation is bad but like perseverance”
