What are three things you wish you’d known as a freshman and would like to tell athletes in the Class of 2029?

There is likely going to come a time when you are overwhelmed and it is okay to ask for help! Your team, coaches, and professors are there to help. Support other teams: go to their games, have mixed hangouts, etc. The CU athletics community as a whole is amazing. Join Women’s Wrestling!

What’s your favorite team memory?

My favorite memory was our first home dual against Lehigh and Harvard. It was great to be able to show off what we’ve been working so hard for on our own mats and actually see everyone’s friends, family and even classmates come support. Also we crushed them :)

What has being on a sports team at Columbia meant to you?

In such a large university, being on CWWC has meant that I always have a community of strong, passionate women on my side.

Whom would you like to thank?

I would like to thank every woman who has stepped foot in the mat room, whether to just try out a practice or to officially join the team. CWWC is made special by the women that are in it, those that came before me, those I was fortunate enough to cross paths with, and those that will come after. I would also like to thank Emma Randall, our amazing coach. Nothing is possible without Emma. Her dedication to women’s wrestling, this team and every woman on it is astounding and inspiring. Last but certainly not least, thank you to our donors and supporters that continue to help us grow behind the scenes.

One thing you’d do if you had more time?

Play one more game of handball (we take warm up handball VERY seriously).
