Where do you start when you need support?

During NSOP week, you’ll probably be presented with lots of information about campus safety, various campus offices, and support structures—but once the semester begins, it can be difficult to know where to start when you need help. To help you navigate the resources available to you as a student, we’ve put together a guide to undergraduate student resources for everything from academics, to careers, to meeting basic needs, and more.

While Columbia’s undergraduate schools share many resources, some categories specify those available at Barnard, Columbia, and GS. Many of the items listed under “Columbia” are available to all students, but if you’re unsure or if it’s not indicated below, be sure to check the official websites or ask around about your fellow student’s experiences. The information below is also by no means comprehensive or indicative of the full range of support you may need during college, and experiences with how these resources work in practice can differ. Trust your instincts when it comes to seeking out support that works for you, but also know that there’s no shame in utilizing the network of support that comes with being a student here.
