A lot of flights have been canceled!

Happening off-Campus: Thousands of United States domestic flights are being canceled. Because air traffic controllers are not being paid, fewer are coming to work, leading to flights being unable to fly for safety reasons. Additionally, the government shutdown has led to long lines and chaos at many major airports. It is unclear when the government shutdown will end.  (BBC)  

Happening near Campus: Holiday Open Street returning to NYC for just one Sunday. Fifth Avenue will be closed to cars from 47th to 57th Street on December 14th. This event benefits businesses and features live performances, food, and shopping. Another draw to Fifth Avenue this year is Rockefeller Center’s tree, which will go up this weekend and have a lighting ceremony in early December. (Gothamist )
