Trump seeks to nominate Kevin Warsh to lead the Federal Reserve in May.

Happening off-Campus: President Trump declared on January 30 that he planned to nominate Kevin Warsh to be the next chair of the Federal Reserve. This announcement comes after months of mounting pressure on Jerome Powell, the current Fed chair, to cut interest rates, with Trump even going as far as to threaten to fire Powell before his term ends in May. Warsh is known as a consensus builder, and served as a Fed governor from 2006 to 2011, although it remains to be seen whether the Senate would confirm his appointment. (New York Times)
