There’s nothing like a snow day.

O snow, falling with gentle grace

Draping the world in white embrace.

I did not think at first fall,

It would be many inches tall.

You soften every sound—

A slippery coating of the ground.

Out I venture with my hood;

Has a snow day ever felt as good?

Snowball fights

Cause Columbian delight

As snow coats Low.

Who knows when flowers will grow?

You plot on steps where unsuspecting tread,

Leaving boots soaked through and dignity near dead.

Yet I would not trade

This wintery cascade,

For problem sets that can wait

Until after this snowy state.

Though slush will come in grey defeat

And soak through all our feet,

For now cocoa steams

And we all have winter dreams,

With flakes like stars above our heads,

Some of us not even venturing out of bed.

So fall, O snow,

For we will miss you more than you will know.
