Celebrate the American short story tonight with Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Joshua Cohen and Michael Cunningham!
Happening Off-Campus: Democrat Emily Gregory won a closely contested Florida special election, flipping a Republican-held district that includes Mar-a-Lago, despite an endorsement from Donald Trump for GOP candidate Jon Maples. Gregory, a first-time candidate, won by about 2.4 percentage points, turning a seat Republicans had carried by nearly 20 points in 2024 and marking the latest in a series of Democratic special election gains ahead of the midterms. Happening Near Campus: New York City is replacing its outdated intake site for homeless women with a new $89.5 million, 60,000 square-foot facility in East New York designed to better support those experiencing trauma. The center will offer more privacy, on-site services, and short-term housing for up to 200 women as part of the Mamdani Administrations’ efforts to modernize the shelter system and improve conditions.
