Bwog Recommendation:

Schapiro is close to campus and has corridor-style living, which can also make it a prime choice for singles for rising juniors, and the top choice for doubles for rising sophomores. Past reviews have described the lifestyle in the dorm as quiet and intimate, and also praised it for being close to campus and Riverside Park.

Opinions (2025):

“I can’t speak for other floors, but my bathroom is as disgusting as the ones in McBain. Which is saying something.”

“People in Schapiro tend to be quiet, which I like, but it’s definitely not a party dorm if that’s what you prefer. If you like privacy and the ability to be in your own room and be antisocial sometimes, and you don’t have a burning need to live in a suite as a senior, give Schapiro a try!”

“Walk-through doubles are great if you’re with a compatible roommate, and they’re really slept on. If you’re a junior with the worst lottery number in existence, I would probably do Schapiro.”

“It’s intimate and peaceful, and I will always miss sitting on the windowsill to read or watch the sunrise. Heaven—I mean Hooda Halal—is also 30 seconds away.”
