A tale about a rat and a cat.
When the world slept,
The rat and cat crept,
One along the subway mines,
The other in his owner’s confines.
One hungry for approval,
While escaping removal,
The other seeking outdoors,
While sleeping in drawers,
Both missing the unknown,
They are left chewing their own bone
But not alone,
As each critter yearns for the unknown,
But must stay in their zone,
Even the ones on a throne
