The Plastic Detox

- Join climate experts and Columbia professors for a screening of The Plastic Detox (2026) and a post-screening discussion. Moderated by Columbia Climate School’s Sandra Goldmark and featuring panelists from the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and Moms Clean Air Force, this event promises in in-depth look into plastic pollution. The Jennifer B. Greenfield Annual Lecture
- Thursday, May 7, 5 to 8 pm.
- Library (Tanger Auditorium), Brooklyn College, 2900 Bedford Avenue.
- Get out of the Columbia bubble and venture to Brooklyn College for a detailed examination of disability, featuring two distinguished anthropology professors from New York University. This event will feature a lecture and reception, and is free and open to the public. Registration and more information.
“Wired for Connection” Screening
- Thursday, May 7, 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
- The Forum (Auditorium), Room 513, 601 W 125th St and online. RSVP by May 5.
- To keep your STEM movie streak going, join Columbia’s Center for Early Relational Health for a screening of Wired for Connection. This documentary spans across countries, decades, and disciplines to follow scientists attempting to answer the age old question, why do humans need connection. This event is in-person for CU ID holders and online for guests. Registration and more information.
