“GET ME OFF THIS MAILING LIST!!!”
Yesterday, Columbia’s Journalism School inadvertently flooded the inboxes of hundreds of media members after an invitation to Columbia’s Career Expo turned into a chain of shared emails. Every reply of “get me off this list”, “stop sending emails asking to get off this list” and “lololololol” went out to everyone the Journalism School had invited to their event.
Although less deadly than NYU’s student-wide reply-allcalypse from last November, the event was a big deal for media members. Deadspin has a whole list of exasperated, entertained, and idiotic messages from the email thread.
After more than an hour, and upwards of a hundred messages, Columbia stopped the emails. That Career Expo might be sparsely attended though…
