Just because it’s Saturday doesn’t mean things don’t keep happening.

Happening in the World: The Belarus police detain six people during a protest today in Minsk. Today’s protest is part of a larger series of demonstrations against a disputed presidential election. (Reuters)

Happening in the US: After a decrease in deportation arrests due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced a nationwide enforcement operation this month. 2,000 people have been taken into custody since mid-July, with 300 arrests in Los Angeles alone. (NYT)

Happening in NYC: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that starting on September 30, indoor dining will resume at 25% capacity. This decision signals a move toward normalcy in the City, but may not be enough to keep restaurants alive through the winter months as outdoor seating becomes less possible. (NYT)
