An age old question.
It’s a new semester, and I’m still trying to make friends. My search for companionship has led me to ponder once more: would these fictional characters be friends with me?
Stephanie- A Simple Favor
She and I have a lot in common, including but not limited to our awkward but earnest dance moves. She has a book club, which I would happily join. Even if we only interact on Goodreads, she and I would still get along. I think she’d like me because I would be a nice change of pace from her other “friends,” but I would still be open to solving a mystery. Also, I too would be obsessed with Blake Lively in a suit, so we have that in common as well.
Marshall- How I Met Your Mother
I think Marshall would want to be my friend. He and I both love to make up songs for our everyday tasks. However, he seems to attach to a small group of people, and being the new person in a tight friend group does not exactly seem like the kind of situation I would want to be in. So I don’t think we would end up being best friends, but we would totally grab coffee every now and then, so that is a win in my book.
Kimmy- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
We’d get along so well. She would totally be the person to reach out first, which is such a relief. Kimmy also strikes me as the kind of person who loves to laugh at other people’s jokes, and boy do I have a heck of a lot to offer in that department. They won’t all land, but Kimmy would make me feel like I’m living in my own stand up special more than I already do. I like to have fun. I also have a sweet tooth, so I think she would absolutely want to be my friend.
McAfee- The Politician
She said herself that she barely went out and had fun in college, so I don’t know if she would have time for me. If we were to interact, it would be because we were roommates or just happen to sit next to each other in the library. Although we would not hang out a lot, I feel like she would still like me. She might be a little sick of me down the line because I have a feeling if we were roommates, I would be borrowing her suits from her incredible collection.
Serena van der Woodsen- Gossip Girl
Look, I don’t think Serena would be too fond of me, and I am perfectly okay with that. If we were to interact, I think it would be because I lived in the same dorm as one of her fancier friends. I would probably bump into her in the hallway which would ideally be some sort of meet-cute, but with Serena, after I profusely apologize, she’d most likely laugh about the clutz to her friend.
