Nearby Stores and Restaurants: Wu + Nussbaum, Dos Toros, Milano, Community Food & Juice, Junzi, Blue Bottle Cafe, International, and University Hardware.

Amenities:
- Bathrooms: Two single-person bathrooms in every suite. Most suites are connected to another, so you’ll probs wind up having access to four private bathrooms. Luxurious!
- AC/Heating: No AC, but you can open a window. There is heating.
- Kitchen/Lounge: Each suite has its own kitchen.
- Laundry: Laundry in the basement. It’s free. There are also no more cats in the basement.
- Computers/Printers: There is a Paw Print station in the lobby. Much convenience!
- Gym: If only.
- Intra-transportation: Two elevators and a set of stairs. If you’re on one of the top floors, assume you’ll have to spend about three to five minutes getting downstairs if you leave just before class starts.
- Hardwood/Carpet: Hardwood! Live like Abe Lincoln!
- WiFi: 当然。
- Room Variety: 45 singles; 73 doubles; six residential floors.
- Cleaning Schedule: Bathrooms and Kitchens cleaned twice every week. Trash and recycling bins next to the elevator on each floor are emptied regularly.
- Bonus: Good views on tenth floor. Security guards are very nice. There is a vending machine in the basement.
Bwog Recommendation:
- “Nuss was cool because the rooms looked the least dorm-y out of all the dorms I’ve been in. The bathroom ratio was great and you’re never more than 1 minute away from Wu and Nuss. The only downsides were that there were always roaches in the laundry room and the kitchen could be kind of cramped.”
- “Rooms vary in size, and the third floor has the best bathrooms! If you’re on the interior of the building you won’t get much sunlight, so avoid those rooms!”
- “Nuss is great. People will say that it’s less social for sophomores than McBain, but I never found that to be the case. It’s really easy to have get-togethers (post Covid, of course!), and you’re never more than a block away from McBain, where most of the other sophomores are. Nuss also has better facilities than McBain—clean, private bathrooms, large kitchens, and a reasonably quick elevator. You can’t go wrong with Nuss in your sophomore year!”
Resident Opinions:
- “Room 10C-2 is deceptively small. It is very oddly shaped, and there is no way to fit the two beds along two different walls. You will wind up either having to make a bunk bed or putting one bed in the middle of your room. Room 10C-2 should be a single. There’s also no closet in the southwest corner of 10C-2. The floor plan is wrong.”
- “Room 10C-1 is a great double.”
- “<3 Nuss.”
- “I would say that Nuss is the best sophomore dorm hands down. You’re not getting that suite set-up anywhere else as a sophomore. But people should try to get the suite that actually has the kitchen and lounge if possible.”
