Rawcus: Nothing But Noise

  • Wednesday, April 23, 9:30 pm, Roone Auditorium (Lerner Hall)
  • Raw Elementz, one of Columbia’s hip-hop dance groups, presents their spring showcase. The performance will feature student-choreographed works by members of the group.

Barnard Theatre Senior Thesis Festival I

  • Thursday, April 24, Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, 7 to 9 pm, Minor Latham Playhouse
  • The Barnard Theatre Department presents the first half of their senior thesis festival. Performances include Suzan-Lori Parks’ 365 Days / 365 Plays, directed by Sahmaya Busby (BC ‘25 and former Bwog EIC!), Sophocles’ Antigone, directed by Mikayla Gold Benson (BC ‘25), and LM Feldman’s A People, directed by Is Perlman (CC ‘25). Each performance is ticketed separately, and the order changes each day, so look at the website for specific show times and for tickets.

Julius Caesar

  • Thursday, April 24, Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, 7 pm, the Van Am Quad (adjacent to Hamilton Lawn and Hartley, Wallach, and John Jay Halls)
  • Columbia’s King’s Crown Shakespeare Troupe presents their spring production, William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, a “ferocious and spectacular tragedy on the dream of liberty and the “honorable men” who destroy it” that tells the story of Roman dictator Julius Caesar’s betrayal and assassination. As an outdoor production of this classic play, the show (and its audience) will travel around campus to different locations.

Barnard/Columbia Dances at Miller

  • Friday, April 25, 7 pm, and Saturday, April 26, 2 and 7 pm, Miller Theatre
  • The Barnard Dance Department presents their spring showcase featuring four works. This year’s performance will feature A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham’s “Drive,” restaged by Barnard dance professor Tamisha Guy (modern), and original new works by Barnard dance professors Maguette Camara (West African), Antonio Carmena (ballet), and Jodi Melnick (postmodern). 

Ride the Cyclone

  • Friday, April 25, 7 pm, and Saturday, April 26, 2 and 7 pm, Glicker-Milstein Theatre
  • Columbia Musical Theater Society presents a production of Ride the Cyclone. The musical tells the story of six high school choir students who die riding a rollercoaster and then have the chance to tell their stories for one of them to return to life.

Latenite 50

  • Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, 8 and 11 pm, Lerner Blackbox Theatre
  • Columbia’s experimental sketch comedy group will present their spring anthology of sketches written, directed, and performed by students. The 11 pm show on Saturday is a prank show. 

Columbia University Bach Society Spring Concert 

  • Sunday, April 27, 3 pm, St. Paul’s Chapel 
  • Columbia University Bach Society presents their spring concert of classical orchestra pieces. This semester’s program includes pieces by Bach, Palestrina, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff.
