Happening in the World: After several months of negotiations, Ukraine and the United States have finally agreed to a minerals deal. Signed on Wednesday, the deal will grant the United States access to critical minerals and other natural materials located in Ukraine in hopes that it will help secure long-term aid in their ongoing conflict against Russia. Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who signed the deal for Ukraine, took to social media to write “We have formed a version of the agreement that provides mutually beneficial conditions for both countries.” (AP)
