Yay Homecoming!

Highlights: 

In the highly anticipated homecoming game, the Lions fell to the Penn Quakers, 35-21 after a stunning early lead. The Lions were led by quarterback Caleb Sanchez (CC ‘28), who completed 27 out of 47 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions forced two early Penn turnovers, with Caleb Solomon (CC ‘28) and Terell Battle (CC ‘27) each recording an interception. After a solid half that kept the Lions in the lead, the Quakers’ offense responded with a touchdown with 8:52 left in the third quarter. After a heated back and forth in the second half, the Lions’ couldn’t recover. With this loss, the Lions’ are still waiting for their first homecoming win since 2021. 

On Sunday, the field hockey team dominated Wagner with a 4-0 victory at home. Jacinta Solari Etcheberry (CC ‘28) scored the Lions’ first goal with an assist from Sophia Abate (CC ‘26) just 9:35 minutes into the first quarter. Etcheberry continued her dominant game with an assist to Lizzie Adams (CC ‘28) who scored the Lions second goal in the second quarter. Next came first year Izzy Kaczor (CC ‘29) who scored with an assist from Abate. To round out the Lions’ incredible performance was a fourth goal by Adams with an assist from Nicole Campolattaro (CC ‘28) with just 6:48 remaining in the game. Go Lions!
