Seriously, who is paying for this?

Maybe I felt too confident calling last-minute to get a poster board printed, but isn’t that what everyone does? Why print the thing ahead of time?

As part of a group project, I needed a poster board printed of an experiment me and my partners came up with. My group decided the most convenient option would be to head down to Ivy League Stationers & Printers. It’s close, convenient, and is here for students. We couldn’t have been further from the truth.

I knew it wouldn’t be free to print the poster, but I thought I’d split the cost among the three other participants in my group and call it a day. Little did I know that it would cost over $80 to print the poster. Yeah, you read that right – eighty dollars!

My jaw had never dropped lower before hearing that price.  This is highway robbery! Who has the money to be shelling out $80 for a poster board? Seriously, who is capitulating to these insane prices?

Is it because we were doing the project at the last minute? Either way, it should never cost that much. It’s a flimsy piece of paper we are going to discard immediately after we get our grade

Now even though this is a hate letter, this is not directed at Ivy League Stationers & Printers – it’s more directed at the abominable prices. I am sure the staff working there are very kind and competent, but the prices sure aren’t nice.

My group ended up getting our own board for a much less expensive price and gluing on smaller pieces of paper we printed ourselves. We were determined not to succumb to the ghastly price.
