CU Generation Presents: Genesis
- Friday, April 3, 8 pm, Roone Arledge Auditorium (Lerner Hall)
- Columbia University Generation, an open style student dance group, proudly presents their annual show, Genesis. As a culmination of the year’s hard work and an expression of community, Genesis celebrates the artistry and collective power of dance.
- Friday, April 3, 7 pm, Lerner Black Box
- Come watch Columbia Musical Theater Society perform a vibrant selection of musical numbers “from Heathers, Sweeney Todd, The Greatest Showman, and more.” All performances are choreographed and directed by students.
The McIntosh County Shouters: In Concert
- Friday, April 3, 7:30 pm, Miller Theater
- The McIntosh County Shouters are one of the latest and greatest performers of the ring shout, “one of the oldest African American performance traditions surviving in America.” Although the ring shout was pioneered decades ago by the Gullah Geechee communities in Georgia, all are welcome to witness the McIntosh County Shouters preserve culture and history through the living expression of dance.
- Saturday, April 4, 12-5 pm, Low Steps
- Bacchanal is Columbia’s annual concert on Low Steps. This year, U.K.-based rapper fakemink will headline. Baltimore R&B artist Nourished By Time will open, while indie-rock group Slow Pulp will support. Come for Columbia’s most hyped concert tradition and a vibrant artistic display.
CU Raaga Presents: Sitar Concert by Ustad Shahid Parvez
- Sunday, April 5, 7:30 pm, Wang Pavilion (Lerner Hall)
- CU Raaga, a student club promoting South Asian dance and art, presents a sitar concert starring Ustad Shahid Parvez. Anubrata Chatterjee will accompany him on the tabla. All are invited to join for a rich night of celebrating traditional South Asian music.
