Happening off-Campus: Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic senate nominee in Michigan has found himself an unlikely defender: Tucker Carlson. Carlson has come out in support of Dr. El-Sayed when he was targeted by the republican nominee, Mike Rogers, for criticizing the US Military’s actions after the September 11 attacks. In his newsletter, Carlson wrote “he simply said that the U.S. conducting terrorism of its own in response to 9/11 was not exactly an appropriate reaction. He is obviously right.” (NYTimes)

Happening near Campus: Although Fall is nearly upon us, the National Weather Service is predicting a mild fall and winter in New York City, with above average temperatures in October. The main climate driver is El Niño, and the Atlantic hurricane season is also expected to be milder. This also means that less snowfall is likely this winter, and precipitation will most likely fall in the form of rain. (Gothamist)

Happening on Campus: Tomorrow from 11 am to 12 pm Columbia will be hosting a Naloxone training workshop online. According to the events website, attendees will receive fentanyl test strip and naloxone kits or a naloxone kit only from Columbia Health upon completion of the training. Registration is required.
