12 CommentsIf you were wondering what the commotion is on Low Plaza right now, it’s the Occupy CU Student Worker Picnic. Today is the National Day of Action for Education and workers, students, professors, and community members are encouraged to voice concerns over the state of education. Free pizza, bagels, and potluck are advertised for protestors. At 1 pm the group will be heading to Brooklyn to join other student protestors. Tipsters report drum banging and bell jingling.

@Anonymous maybe instead of sitting on their asses and stuffing their faces with bagels (which they’ve probably paid for with mommy and daddy’s money), they should go to class. then, they can get good grades, maybe even get a real job (!), and stop being the perpetual nuisance that they are.

@Anonymous Protesting education??? Education until age 16 is a right, after that it is an optional and a privilege. No one has a right to an ivy league education unless they work their butt off and are willing to pay for it somehow.
@Anonymous i assume the slogan is a normative assertion? i.e. “education ought to be a right, not a privilege (and a society that doesn’t treat it as such and organize its resources accordingly has its priorities mixed up)”
