Update—A tipster writes: “The pedestrian was crossing Amsterdam during the no walk signal. The driver of the vehicle (a black Lincoln Town Car) stopped and got out immediately, and appeared to have been cooperating with NYPD.” He continues that the man was “motionless in the street with blood coming from his head,” but it was not clear whether he was badly injured or killed. This comes in the wake of new laws protecting pedestrians and the injury of Public Safety officer Lawrence Humphrey.

@Concerned There is so much pedestrian and car traffic on B’way and Amsterdam near Columbia. It is time for some change to slow down traffic.
This is two pedestrians hit on Amsterdam Ave and 116th and 115th in the last ten days!
Columbia must work with NYC and the Mayor to make some changes for safety.
One of the initiatives of the new Mayor is to reduce pedestrian fatalities in the city.

@Da truth Unfortunately, this may be true. I saw it, and it looked as if the victim was wearing a NSOP bracelet. One freshman dies every year before the start of the fall term.
@Professor McGonagall Sybill Trelawney has predicted the death of a student every year since she came to this school. None of them have died yet.
