Apparently the job opportunities Columbia hooks up don’t all involve $145,000, 80-hour work weeks, maybe some blow, and a fancy suit. The Center for Career Education’s temp work listserv has a listing offering a job with $80, 8 hours of work, maybe some dry ice, and, well, possibly still a suit. It may not be as “high-powered” as a career in finance, but is there really any higher power than the power of magic? How does the chance to “possibly assist on stage” sound for an “exit opportunity”?

Also, Spec’s departed sex columnist continues to make headlines. Spec writer Joanna Zuckerman Bernstein’s article on Miriam Datskovsky for the Philadelphia Weekly is less controversial than ya’ll might be used to, but is worth checking out.

@jesus christ miriam’s column was awful. for a sex columnist, she was certainly afraid of, well, sex. does no one remember that article on queerness that wasn’t much more than a diatribe on how she’s soooo not gay?
@in love with the journalist. well done
@funny stuff sigh. why did they have to cancel that brilliant show?
@rjt No, I’m the magician! He’s only the assistant!
@genuine thanks to Bwog for putting Final Countdown into my head.
@fix the first link!
miriam is kinda cute.
@Sprinkles How did Miriam become a celebrity? It’s just a college sex column, people. It’s not as if no one’s ever written one before.
@nono i’d work for gob and buster any day.
