@Anonymous what is the point of this? To make fun of indian weddings? to have a make believe wedding? hasnt college taught anyone to grow up at columbia or nyu?
Besides wasting time and blasting annoying music, what has this achieved? To show how Indian weddings are conducted ? yea that’s right, every wedding in India involves horses and a procession.
@seas '11 well, indian weddings where they can afford to have horses, they do have horses. and they do blast music, and often times, the procession even goes into the streets where random people join in.
@Anonymous how ironic then that this was meant to be a pakistani, not an indian wedding. although my pakistani friends tell me that actual pakistani weddings aren’t conducted like this…
@Anonymous No actually real pakistani weddings are more lavish and opulent because most pakistanis are obsessed with weddings and cant wait to get married the moment they get their degree.. or so it seems observing most of them after college. Its sad really…
@Anonymous my point was that it was a waste of time and that not every wedding has horses and a procession. There are a gazillion other forms of wedding in India that dont involve either – like the entire south.
In any case, like someone said, ‘fun’ seems to be a good answer.
fucking columbia and a shit load of other groups waste money on a whollllleee lot of fucking bullshit. relatively this is nothing. open your eyes and get a look of whatelse ur crap money is going to.
@lols corrected Unless you were saying \brown people\ to mock the people who think that way, in which case, nevermind, apologies. You’re right though, this was a really big waste of money in my opinion.
@someone who feels dumb what culture were they basing this wedding off of, if any in particular? Also, that looks like it took some serious cash to pull off.
@Anonymous It was pakistani, but there are elements of indian-ness in it especially all the dance teams that perform indian dances. Also, most songs played are all bollywood which is Indian. Please Pakistanis dont take credit for that- its just annoying.
South Asian weddings however, all have a similar format to the one performed yesterday
@Just... … a fake wedding meant to show white people how exotic us brown people are. Argh! This is so stupid. I hate this exotic crap.
More importantly, such a huge waste of money… why the hell is my student life fee going to this crap?
@lols I find it interesting that you refer to certain people as “brown people” and then in the same metaphorical breath say that we shouldn’t make them seem exotic. Because of course, there is such a thing as “brown people” that can be labeled to one culture, as opposed to the many out there with predominately brown skin.
@Anonymous are these the motherfuckers who are blasting their annoying ass music throughout all of morningside? fuck you!!!! the single, unmarried people in Butler hate you!

@Anonymous How is this a waste of money? They’ve found a creative way to share an aspect of their culture with their classmates.
Plus, other cultural groups on campus pull off similarly large, expensive productions throughout the school year.
@Following up Bwog…where is the post about the Police and Carman? Why was it taken down?
@Anonymous seconded. a response Bwog?
