Haakon’s Hall, on 118th and Amsterdam, seems to have a pretty good idea of what college kids want. You can now find Everclear there—the hard liquor, not the alternative 90’s band—which in its 190-proof form is the most potent distilled spirit (it’s also illegal to sell in several states). So if those shots of Nikolai just aren’t doing it for you anymore, head on over to Haakon’s. Just don’t forget to remember where you live. It’s a long, confusing walk back home.
