Happening in the world: Droves of Catalan separatists marched in Barcelona on Saturday in support of 12 of their leaders on trial. Some of these leaders are facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted. (BBC)

Happening in the US: State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert recently withdrew from consideration for the position of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, citing the interests of her family. The main causes are that she hired a foreign-born babysitter without the proper work visa, and Nauert’s failure to pay the proper taxes on time, according to officials. (Washington Post)

Happening in NYC: Multiple manhole fires forced people to evacuate the Jersey Boys Theater and subways to avoid the 50th St. stop in Hell’s Kitchen on Saturday night. The cause of the fires still isn’t known. (NBC New York)

Happening on campus: On Monday, there will be a student-only round table discussion of China’s energy policies during the Trump presidency at the School of Social Work. Tickets are limited – reserve yours here.

Overheard: “That’s the worst – trying to do things when you’re drunk.”
