Happening in the world: Yesterday, the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris caught fire in a tragic accident. While the two towers were spared, the entire roof and spire went up in flames. The fire has been tamed and many works of art were saved, but the full extent of the damage has yet to be assessed. (CNN)

Happening in the U.S.: In the latest development of the college cheating scandal, Lori Laughlin and Mossimo Giannuli entered not guilty pleas in federal court yesterday. They are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California. (NPR)

Happening in NYC:  A yeshiva preschool program was closed by the city health officials yesterday in an effort to combat the recent measles outbreak that has affected 329 people. The program had violated a mandate requiring it to provide attendance and medical records. (The New York Times)
