Nussbaum & Wu Rebranded To “Wu + Nussbaum”

Former bagel shop and bakery Nussbaum & Wu has posted a new sign on its window, pointing to a possible reopening effort. The sign rebrands Nussbaum & Wu as “Wu + Nussbaum,” and indicates that the new shop will serve “noodles, dumplings & bagels” as its mainstay fare.

Nussbaum & Wu had previously closed last June for unknown reasons, following a subpar health inspection grade. Shortly afterward, a sign was posted to storefront and blamed the owner as the reason for the closure. While we initially believed the closure to be temporary, yet another sign posted to the storefront showed that Con Edison had cut off the store’s gas and electricity.

The founders of the original Nussbaum & Wu, Harry Nussbaum and George Wu, seem to possibly be at the helm of this new reopening effort that comes after the recent reopening of Artopolis as NY Basics. With the fast-casual market around Columbia already thriving with offerings from Junzi Kitchen, NY Basics, Strokos, and Pret, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the new addition of dumplings and noodles, and possible reopening of, the “Wu + Nussbaum” brand.
