Former Bwog Publisher Nik has gone uptown, but now he’s going downtown.

Name, School, Major, Hometown: Nikolas, CC, Art History and Economics, London, United Kingdom

Claim to fame: I was the publisher of this fantastic publication for over 3 years

Where are you going? Going all the way downtown

What are 3 things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2023?

  1. Never ever take a class just because it’s easy. You have a lot less time than you think to be in college. Take advantage of your time here! If you want to take a class but you think it’s going to be too difficult talk to the professor, know that they are usually very accommodating. People always want to show off their best self, so putting yourself in a situation that makes you uncomfortable can make you scared. Some of my favourite classes were ones that I took on a whim because they sounded interesting so just go for it.
  2. Go uptown more. People always say you should spend more time downtown but some of the best food I have had in the city is uptown.
  3. Join some kind of group that isn’t related to your major. I joined bwog in my freshman year and it was such a great organisation to be a part of even though I never intended to be a journalist. You meet so many amazing people you otherwise would have never come across that is completely worth it in every way.

“Back in my day…” You could get a lovely lunch special from the fantastic establishment Vine

Favorite Columbia controversy? Is Lee Bollinger’s hair fake? I want answers.

Justify your existence in 30 words or fewer: I am a nice guy who likes many many things.

What was your favorite class at Columbia? Curatorial Positions with Valerie Smith. She is an an amazing professor who really showed me a different way to think about art and approach art history. Anyone who is interested in art or art history should 100% take this class as it was the best I have taken at Columbia.

Would you rather give up oral sex or cheese? I’m a man of variety. Cheese is the clear winner here.

Whom would you like to thank? I would like to thank my parents, and Chelsea FC

One thing to do before graduating: Go check out the tunnels… a lot to see there

Any regrets? Youngweon I miss you—I never got say goodbye before I graduated :'(
