Unknown Individual Has Passed Away At 25 Claremont

According to a spokesperson for the New York Police Department, an unknown individual has passed away at 25 Claremont Avenue, a Columbia-owned faculty and staff housing facility, on Monday morning. The department was not able to offer more details at this time, as the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

According to reporting by the Columbia Daily Spectator, the man was a 56-year-old resident of faculty and staff housing who fell onto the scaffolding of the building at 50 Claremont, after jumping from a window. In Bwog’s conversation with the NYPD, its spokesperson told us the incident occurred at 25 Claremont Avenue but was unable to verify the individual’s age, gender, or affiliation with the University due to the status of the investigation.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the victim’s family, friends, and loved ones.

The University has no comment on the incident at the time.
