If I were the weather, I would simply not have a “high” of 0℃ today.

Happening in the World: After a national laboratory in China was able to significantly mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus in ten patients using other patients’ antibodies, Chinese officials are calling on citizens who have recovered to donate their plasma. Similarly to antibody use in preparation for flu season, plasma is collected to search it for any produced anti-coronavirus antibodies for use in other patients/hosts. Antibodies – a significant part of the human immune system that bind to parts of a disease and mark it for destruction – are produced in response to any disease affecting the body. (Live Science)

Happening in the U.S.: The Trump administration is sending specially trained BORTAC officers – “The SWAT team of the Border Patrol” – from the southern border to multiple “sanctuary cities” around the country. The move comes in an effort to bolster existing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in those cities, where a lack of correspondence with local authorities has kneecapped the efficacy of ICE’s work. New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Houston are just some of the agents being sent to the following cities. (Chicago Tribune)

Happening in NYC: A French tourist had his neck slashed by an unknown individual while walking down Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard between West 132nd and 133rd Street yesterday. The 29-year old was walking out of a hardware store with his girlfriend when confronted by an individual that police believe was dressed in black and wearing Air Jordan sneakers. After the attack, the tourist was rushed to Harlem Hospital, and is as of yesterday in critical but stable condition. (New York Post)

Happening on Campus: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of year again. The 24-hour musical has arrived, and it’s Annie, and it’s tonight. As I write this, the cast and crew is still getting ready for the big event, running on nothing more than… willpower and Red Bull, I assume.

Let not their lack of sleep be in vain, guys. While tickets appear to be sold out, according to the Facebook event page, “the waitlist will open promptly at 5 PM in front of the Glicker-Milstein Theatre.” Be there or be square.

What’s Jeffrey Up To?: Oh, just writhing in agony over the difficult decisions I have to make at this point in my undergraduate career, especially this one (see bottom left and right):

Bye!
