Happening in the World: Many European countries are implementing more COVID-19 restrictions as cases spike. The Czech Republic is the worst hit, with an infection rate of 1 per 100,000 people. Their government is enforcing a three-week partial lockdown in attempts to handle the spread. The Netherlands is following suit as well as making masks mandatory in public spaces (BBC).
Happening in the US: In California, law enforcement is investigating fake ballot boxes placed that appeared in three different counties this past week. The GOP admitted that some of the boxes were placed by a field director from a field director of the California Republican Party in Orange County. The county District Attorney has launched a further investigation and says that they take this issue of voter fraud extremely seriously. (The Guardian).
Happening in NYC: New York has now added three more states to its travel advisory list. People coming from Ohio, Michigan, and Virginia are now required to quarantine for 14 days when traveling to New York. This adds to the total making the list a full 36 states and two territories (ABC7).
