After a delay in the site update, Bwog reports on CULPA’s newest plans.
As the semester comes to a close and students want a void to scream into when ranting about their professors, many of us will run into the open arms of CULPA (Columbia Underground Listing of Professor Ability) to share our truest thoughts.
Back in September, Bwog reported on CULPA’s site update that was scheduled to launch early in the semester. However, many of the announced changes, such as the updated web design, more accessible review process, and search bar autocomplete, have yet to be implemented.
The CULPA team has reported a series of data issues as the source of their delay, citing an accumulation of typos, mismatched reviews, and more dating back to the website’s inception in 1997. As a site dedicated to compiling student’s honest reviews of professors and courses, publishing inaccurate information (including new reviews) would go against CULPA’s mission. That said, reviews can still be submitted for Fall 2020 classes, they will just be stored until the update is complete.
In short, the CULPA team has a lot on their plate. The team plans on finalizing changes come winter break, and the Columbia student body should expect a full site relaunch with all anticipated changes arriving in January 2021.
So go get those reviews ready, CULPA is on the way!
