Jazz musician Jon Batiste is nominated for the most awards with 11 while Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo are both nominated for seven. (BBC)
Happening in the US: Former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has announced she will be running for Alaska’s only seat in the House of Representatives. In her candidacy announcement, Palin said she would tackle issues like illegal immigration and “socialist” Democrat policies. (BBC)
Happening in NYC: The price for a plain slice of pizza is now more than 3 dollars throughout New York City. This exorbitant price breaks with the commonly held theory, first introduced by the New York Times, that the price of a slice of pizza will match MTA fares (currently $2.75) in the city. (Bloomberg)
Happening in Our Community: Make sure to register for Columbia’s Virtual Naloxone Training, running from 4 to 5 pm tomorrow. Not only will participants gain skills that could save the life of someone who is overdosing, but they will also receive a free Naloxone kit following completion of the training.
