This is our new album, “The Tortured Sports Poets Department.”

In the heart of New York, where Lions roar, on Schiller Court, the crowd did implore, Columbia’s women’s basketball team (15-5, 6-1 Ivy) in stride, a tale of triumph, with Dartmouth swept away in the tide.

Fifteen victories tall, a proud record they bore, six Ivy triumphs, the Lions wanted more. Dartmouth (2-26, 0-14 Ivy) stood, six wins against their name, and the Lions sought glory in the basketball game.

No mercy shown, as the ball took flight, Columbia danced, displaying their might. A scoring spree, a display so grand, 71 points echoed across the land.

Dartmouth’s defense, once a fortress strong, crumbled and fell to a Columbia song. 52 points allowed, a season’s high, the Lions roared, reaching for the sky.

Ranked fourth in defense was the Big Green’s pride, yet Columbia’s storm couldn’t be denied. A winning streak, seven games in a row, History scripted with each victorious throw.

At the 4:52 mark, the lead they took. Never relinquished, not a single look. Control firm, a relentless spree, Columbia’s pride, for all to see.

A third-quarter surge, a thunderous might. A 19-0 run, under Schiller’s light. Dartmouth was silenced, as Lions roared, A tale of dominance, beautifully scored.

Barnard’s senior, Nicole Stephens (BC ’24) by name, In the win, she played a pivotal game. Six points and two threes, a sniper’s delight, Assists, rebounds, steals in the Columbia night.

Cecelia Collins (CC ’25) posted points with grace. Fifteen on the board, an efficient pace. Abbey Hsu (CC ’24), a record-breaking feat, Thirteen points, nine rebounds, a performance elite.

Kitty Henderson (CC ’25), stats aplenty she’d sow. Eleven points, six assists in the show. Bench contributions, a symphony bright, Twenty-eight points, in the victory’s light.

An insurmountable hole, the Big Green fell. Columbia’s dominance, a captivating spell. The Lions march, their triumph bold, A story in each point, each tale told.

The homestand concludes, victory’s thrill. Brown awaits, another test to fulfill. Friday night (February 9), under the gymnasium’s light, Columbia’s women, ready for the fight.
