I have discovered a preference for New Orleans Jazz.
Bwogline: Nearly 300 people were arrested in New York City last night at Columbia University and City College, according to Eric Adams. Officials said 173 people were arrested at City College and 109 at Columbia. Columbia President Minouche Shafik has asked the NYPD to remain on campus past graduation. Police officers made arrests and removed banners from Hamilton Hall, an occupied building on campus. This pattern follows the history of protests at Columbia, including the April 1968 protest over the Vietnam War, and the later protest on the South African Apartheid. The campus continues to be closed to everyone except students living on campus and employees providing essential services on Wednesday morning. (New York Times)
Study Tip: Stop studying. Just go for a walk, meditate, and hope that the moment you’re gone you just reach Nirvana and unattach yourself from worldly desires (such as good grades). If you don’t though, then just go back to your work and you would have given yourself a nice break and hopefully a refresh.
Music of the Day: While You Were Sleeping – Laufey. I am going to her concert on Friday so I am doing that last-minute refresh of the music.
Procrastination Tip: Listen to WKCR’s “experimental jazz” and then maybe begin to like the music so you can be contrarian and feel superior to your peers.
Overseen/Overheard: Just saw my tuition invoice come in, but it’s just the 20 dollars I have owed Barnard for months and refuse to pay.
