Russia-Ukraine Conflict and Strategy Discussion
- Wednesday, February 12, 6 pm, Lerner Roone Arledge Cinema.
- Hosted by the Alexander Hamilton Society, this event will feature Dr. Michael Kimmage, head of the Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute and will be moderated by Columbia Professor of International Relations Jack Snyder.

Black, Brilliant & Free/An Ode to Zora: Dust Tracks On a Road
- Tuesday, February 11, 6 to 8 pm, Milstein 225.
- In honor of the Zora Neale Hurston centennial, OlaRonke Akinmowo will host a book talk in collaboration with Barnard Library and B.O.S.S. discussing Hurston’s memoir Dust Tracks On a Road. Akinmowo is the creator and director of The Free Black Women’s Library, an art project in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood. The talk will center on the idea of “finding freedom through autoethnography,” and there will be free copies of the book while supplies last.

Ethnic Studies and Pre-Law Panel
- Wednesday, February 12, 6:30 to 8 pm, Hamilton 420.
- The Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race is hosting a discussion on racial justice and the law, targeted towards pre-law students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Panelists include attorneys Elizabeth OuYang and Mavis Fowler-Williams, director of the Criminal Defense Clinic Amber Baylor, and Columbia Law student Jack Ruiz. Dinner will be provided.

- Columbia Health Sexual Violence Response is hosting a Valentine’s giveaway, including punny messages, pins, beanies, and candy.

Screening of Bye Bye Tiberias with Director Lina Soualem
- Friday, February 14, 6:30 to 9 pm, Buell Hall East Gallery.
- Maison Française, MESAAS and Middle East Institute are hosting a screening of Bye Bye Tiberias. The film follows the journey of a Palestinian woman who, after leaving her village to pursue an acting career in Europe, returns home with her filmmaker daughter and explores themes of exile and heartbreak. Following the screening, Director Lina Soualem and Professor of French Thomas Dodson will participate in a Q&A.
