Happening off-Campus: According to US lawmakers and the White House, there is no obvious way forward to end the partial government shutdown. The shutdown began on Saturday, when the President’s team failed to reach an agreement on legislation pertaining to the funding of the Department of Homeland Security. Congress is in recess until February 23rd, and it is unclear what will follow. (AP)
Happening near Campus: Mayor Mamdani has launched an expansive Business Improvement District in Coney Island. He stated that he had hopes it would bring marketing and business support as well as sanitation supplement ahead of the summer months, when it receives its highest amount of business. (Gothamist)
