You’ve been cordially invited to CUPAL Gala...

This past Friday, February 27, the Columbia Undergraduate Performing Arts League (CUPAL) threw a gala in the Roone auditorium in honor of students of performing arts.

With the recent finale of Bridgerton Season 4 being released February 26, the gala was Bridgerton themed, requesting that guests RSVP and attend in their best regency adjacent attire. The gala invited all walks of life, from first years to seniors, it was a place for performers to gather no matter their year or college.

Lavish tables, dazzling cutlery, and more, the event had an abundance of catering, offering treats for all. Drinks were offered at the bar, with most having the privilege to pick up a shirley temple or orange juice. Students sat at tables, chatting about rehearsal or audition season.

Despite these delightful aspects, the main reason as to why students gathered was the line up of the gala: several student theatre groups were invited to be the entertainment for the evening. The line up included: CU Records, First Stages, Special Project, Black Theatre Ensemble, Columbia Metrotones, CU Swingdance, Columbia University Sketch Show, CMTS: Singing and Choreo Performance, Columbia University Lion Dance, Bacchantae, and the Varsity Show.

Each group performed an excerpt or two from their show, giving the audience a free sneak peek of what more is to come from each production.

With rich instrumentals, lovely conversation, and even better entertainment, the night was truly one to enjoy.
