Human Rights Leadership in Practice: Crisis Response and Institution

- Join the Human Rights Institute at Columbia Law School for a conversation with Navid Cina, a human rights leader and current LL.M candidate. Cina will discuss his experience working with vulnerable communities in need of humanitarian response and human rights advocacy. The conversation will focus on human rights in crisis and post-crisis environments.

- Join the Harriman Institute’s Program for U.S. Russia Relations for a book talk by Eugene Finkel. In Intent to Destroy, political scientist Eugene Finkel, dives into the deep roots of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Topics will include Russia’s tactics, the Kremlin’s policies, and Ukraine’s internal unity. Please register for the event by 4 pm on April 21, as seating is limited.

Climate Risk, Capital, and the Institutions That Price the Future
- Friday, April 24, 12 to 1 pm, Schermerhorn Hall, Room 501
- This discussion will focus on the effects of climate change on asset repricing, disruptions to food systems, and strains on energy grids. The event is hosted by Columbia Climate School’s MS in Climate Finance Practitioner Series and Columbia Business School’s Tamer Institute for Social Enterprise and Climate Change. Speakers will include Dr. Sraah Kapnick, Managing Director and Global Head of Climate Advisory at J.P. Morgan, and Professor Lisa Sachs, Director of the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment and Director of Columbia’s M.S. in Climate Finance.
