You may have noticed that SSOL is in trouble. Sez an undated announcement on ssol.columbia.edu:
Please note: SSOL has been experiencing an outage since early afternoon today September 3, 2013. At this time we are not clear when this will be back up. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our technical staff is reviewing the incident and is making every effort to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
CUIT’s alerts page noted the outage at 2:12 pm; the most recent update is 3:17 pm, and it says they’re still working on it.
Entirely unrelated: CUIT’s org chart. Something to pore over while you’re not registering for classes.

@Anonymous That’s nothing, b@b has been down for days. I think. Is anyone else not able to log in?
@Anonymous I really miss b@b
@Anonymous I think Jae tries to stop the website from becoming popular by shutting it down without explanation at key times. Like the first week of school.
@youknow you know i knoww…..
@Anonymous I am also unable to log in. I also miss it very much! There are so many things I have wanted to post… and only now is it gone do I realize there is no other place to post them. Like
> tfw you run to butler right after class and check out all the books for the class
@you know you know tfw you don’t even know which classes you are taking and cannot get books
@the honorably based filgb announcement: this is now a b@b thread. commence edgy postings.
> so wot abt arsenal m8?
@Anonymous om6ma on TinyChat tomorrow if it’s still not up
@Anonymous I thought I was banned for posting 9/11 conspiracy theories under the name Striperella. Glad to see that’s not the case.
@lol I’m just showing up to the classes I’m waitlisted for. Let the shitshow begin.
@Anonymous Thank you for being the reason I’ve had to show up to all my classes 20 minutes early to even get a seat.
@Anonymous I see empty spots in Art and Music Hum classes, but when I try to add them, it tells me to go on the wait list? Why?
@fetid The instructor made the choice to pick the last spots from the Wait List.
@Anonymous The waitlist is such a failure… All the elective classes for my major has more than 100 people on it…
@Anonymous what major? I need to avoid it!
@Anonymous I totally agree. Let’s continue complaining about an extremely logical tool that saves everyone time and frustration as it is calibrated for a few days! Maybe if we are lucky, they’ll even let us register by signing up on stone tablets outside of Kent!
@Anonymous These issues were brought up at the ESC meeting when the CCSC member tried to push it through. Obviously, it was not addressed…
@Anonymous I really don’t care to engage in this stupid debate any more, and you can go around renewing ip addresses as much as you want, but it won’t change the fact that you are jealous and wasting your time hindering progress and not offering to help.
Literally, all of ESC ignored Barry’s email when he asked what the concerns were and how to address them. Good bye.
