Modehouse Six is the Orange is the New Black musical

Classes are starting up again, but that doesn’t mean you have to live in Butler. Try attending a show this Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; you don’t even have to leave the bubble. All Weekend Long:

• KCST presents Henry IV Part II in the Glicker-Milstein Theatre.  Catch it Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Saturday at 2pm for free, as long as you reserve your tickets.
• CUPAL presents a new musical, Modehouse Six this weekend in the Lerner Black Box.  Want to see what happens when six female prisoners decide to do something about their abusive therapist?  Well then be sure to get your tickets for the show Friday at 8pm and 10:30pm, Saturday at 8pm, or Sunday at 3pm.  Tickets are free, but require reservation.

Thursday:

• Didn’t know there was an art gallery on campus?  Discover the Wallach Gallery while attending the exhibition tour and talk about Eleanor Antin’s Selves at noon.  Look here for more information.
• Columbia/Barnard Hillel, CQA, and GendeRev is hosting a screening of Laurn Lubin’s documentary We Exist: A Film About a Third Gender thursday night on the 5th floor of The Kraft Center at 7:30pm.  Afterwards there will be a talk-back and refreshments.
• Through the Arts Initiative, tickets to the New York Philharmonic’s performance at 7:30 will only cost $35.50 with CUID.  On the program for the night is Bach, Handel, and Mozart’s Requiem.
• Miller Theatre’s Composer Portraits series continues with composer Rand Steiger.  Grab your $7 ticket with CUID at TIC and get to Miller by 8pm for this show.

Friday:

•  The Metrotones are having their fall study break/concert, The Wild TONEberrys at 9pm in Lerner C555 for free!
• Check out some poetry this weekend at the CU Poet’s Cafe in the Lerner Party Space at 9pm.  Tickets are $2 with CUID.

Saturday:

• Greek Beats is coming back Saturday at 9pm in Roone.  What is Greek Beats you ask?  Well it’s essentially a talent competition for sports teams, sororities, and fraternities, with special guest performances by Onyx and Raw Elementz.  Tickets are $7.
• Columbia’s New Opera Workshop will be giving a performance of their work this semester in Wien Lounge at 8pm with free food.
• Dance for a cause this saturday by taking a Bachata class, with all proceeds to benefit the Clinica de Familia in La Romana, Dominican Republic.  The event will take place at the CU Med Center, in Bard Hall.  Tickets are $8, and there will be a limited number of free chipotle burritos.

Sunday:

•  The Inter-Collegiate Bellydance Conference starts at 2pm in Roone for only $5.

Monday:

•  Columbia University’s Center for Jazz Studies is holding a screening of the 89 minute documentary of Jazz Dreams II in 101 Prentis Hall, on 125th St at 8pm.  This event is free but requires an RSVP.

Tuesday:

• Thanks to the Arts Initiative, tickets to see Olli Mustonen at Carnegie Hall at 7:30pm are only $11 with CUID!
