Happening in New York: Today, Housing Works employees are planning a walkout in response to the non-profit’s discouragement of its employees forming a union. Workers say this policy goes against the company’s social justice roots and cite overwork, among other things, as reasons for unionization; meanwhile, chief executive officer Charles King says he isn’t opposed to a union in principle, but he doubts a union is the right choice for solving issues.
